One heart and two swallows, a tribute to Sailor Jerry

My most recent work has just been printed and posted, to around 150 wedding guests. It’s a bit nerve-wracking to commission yourself to do something you love, for a very special day, and then sharing the results with lots of close friends and family….fearing their comments and secretly hoping they just loved it! Fortunately the younger generation of friends seems to have got the tongue-in-cheek side of it and, maybe, even the reference to Sailor Jerry. I can’t say the same for the older generation (they are swallows, mum, not doves!) but it really doesn’t matter. This is something that will stay in the drawer of my good memories, along with the pieces of linocut I kept after I finished it.

Have a read at my wedding blog to see how I made it: http://oursicilianwedding.wordpress.com/2014/02/04/one-heart-and-two-swallows-a-tribute-to-sailor-jerry/
