After reading The Artist’s Way (with a pinch of salt), I started writing the ‘Morning Pages‘. For those who are not familiar with this, the author suggests writing three pages as soon as you wake up, no matter what you write this exercise is aimed at recovering a sense of freedom and creativity.
I tried it for one year and it was a useful exercise, but in the long term I found out that writing in the morning actually makes me think more….which is not good when you want to produce more! So I decided to modify this method and started drawing instead.
So far the results look certainly ‘different’ from what I would normally draw, but considering I really love Edward Gorey it sort of makes sense:
